King Alexandrae palm is commonly known as king palm or feather palm or Northern Bangalow palm. Its origin is Queensland, Australia. It is most attractive palm growing upto a height of 30 meters. The feather like leaves of the palm look more attractive. It has a huge demand in foreign countries. the fruits are initially green and turning to bright red when ripe. This species is easily grown from fresh seed and is very popular for gardens and parks.
Seeds are red in colour when get matured. After drying it becomes faded ash colour.
Germination Procedure:
- Soak the seeds in water for atleast 24 hours.
- Then place the seeds on bed, made of either soil or sand. Use 30% compost.
- Cover the seeds with same medium.
- Water on it frequently to get it moist.
- Usually it takes 35 to 45 days to germinate.
